Delete your account
You can delete your I Do Planner account yourself, at any time, from inside the app or the provider portal. This page explains how, what happens to your bookings, and what we delete or must keep.
Couples: delete your account in the app
- Open the I Do Planner app and sign in.
- Open the Profile tab (the person icon in the bottom bar).
- Tap Delete account at the bottom of the page and confirm twice.
- Sign in with Google or Apple once more when asked. This proves it is really you; a deletion cannot be confirmed with an old session.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out. If you still have a booking with a future date, it is cancelled automatically and the venue or performer is told that you closed your account. A paid advance is refunded under that provider's cancellation policy, exactly as if you had cancelled the booking yourself.
Venues and performers: delete your account on the portal
- Sign in to the I Do Planner provider portal.
- Open Profile and scroll to the bottom.
- Click Delete my account and confirm twice.
- Enter your password to confirm.
Every booking with a future date is cancelled and each couple is notified that you closed your account. Where a couple has paid an advance, the full advance is recorded as owed back to them. Your offerings disappear from the app immediately.
What is deleted and what is kept
We delete everything that identifies you as soon as you confirm. Some records must stay for a fixed period because the law requires it; they are kept without your personal details, and nobody can see them in the app.
| Data | What happens | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Couples — sign-in, profile and profile photo, favourites, notifications, calendar entries, device tokens, sessions, chat messages you sent | Deleted | Immediately |
| Providers — sign-in, contact details, description, photos, menus, halls, bank accounts, blocked dates, notifications, sessions | Deleted; your offerings are hidden from everyone | Immediately |
| Bookings, offers and payment records (past, cancelled and the ones cancelled by the deletion) | Deleted with your account if no money ever changed hands on any of your bookings. Where an advance, a remainder or a refund was confirmed, those records are kept without your name: the booking is detached from your account, and for providers only the trade name, business address and VAT number stay on them, because they are the platform's invoice and commission evidence. | Until 31 December of the 11th year after the last such payment — the retention period of the Croatian Accounting Act (Zakon o računovodstvu), as permitted by GDPR Art. 17(3)(b). After that date the records are erased automatically. |
| Payment proofs you uploaded (bank transfer confirmations) and the notes you attached to bookings | Deleted from our storage | Immediately |
| Guest lists a couple filled in for a venue (guests' names, their tables, notes such as diets or allergies) | Deleted; the confirmed final guest count stays with the payment records | Immediately; without a deletion, automatically 30 days after the wedding |
| Reviews a couple wrote | Kept, shown as written by a former member | As long as the reviewed provider exists |
| Reviews about a deleted provider | Deleted | Immediately |
Photos and documents you uploaded are removed from our storage together with your account. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify anyone are kept. Your Google or Apple sign-in is removed from our authentication provider (Firebase), so signing in again creates a brand-new, empty account.
Encrypted database backups may hold a copy of deleted data for up to 30 days; backups are never used to restore a deleted account and expire on their own. The admin panel's security log keeps the deletion event, referencing only an internal account identifier, for 2 years.
If you want a copy of your data before deleting (GDPR Articles 15 and 20), write to ido-planner@ido-planner.com from the e-mail address of your account; we answer within 30 days.
Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, e-mail ido-planner@ido-planner.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the e-mail address your account uses (the Google or Apple account you signed in with, or the e-mail you registered with as a provider). We verify the request, delete the account within 30 days and confirm by e-mail. The same rules about open bookings and retained records apply.
